Alyssa Gilmore, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA, is a Board Certified and Licensed Behavior Analyst who is deeply passionate about supporting families through a wide range of behavioral concerns. During her undergraduate studies at the University of San Diego, she discovered the powerful impact that therapy and behavioral supports can have on families, including those with children as young as 12 months old. After earning her graduate degree at Arizona State University, Alyssa became a BCBA and continued providing behavioral analysis and support through a whole-family model. She has worked closely with parents, caregivers, and children across clinical, home, community, and school settings, and her commitment to supporting the entire family—particularly parents and caregivers—continues to fuel her work at Little Otter. Alyssa’s approach is grounded in the belief that all behavior is a form of communication. She collaborates with families to better understand what their child is communicating and to identify effective ways to support the development of more adaptive communication skills. Through close partnership with caregivers, Alyssa helps determine strategies and recommendations that allow the family unit to function more smoothly. She strongly believes that children thrive when caregivers feel consistent and confident in their approach, and she works with each family to identify what that approach looks like for them. As a parent herself, Alyssa understands how challenging it can be to feel confident in knowing the “right” approach, and through communication and collaboration, she provides evidence-based guidance and support tailored to each family’s needs. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and practicing yoga. She looks forward to partnering with families to problem-solve strategies and provide meaningful support around behavioral concerns.
