Ashley Ochi, BCBA, has been helping families facing behavioral challenges since her teen years. During this time, she gained experience on the home implementation side of ABA services, supporting the behavior plans of the children in her care. Ashley began working as a behavior technician in college and was quickly promoted to a supervisory role while pursuing her master’s degree and board certification. Before joining Little Otter, Ashley worked as a BCBA supervisor at a local ABA agency, where she specialized in supporting teens and adults in unique living situations. During this time, she expanded her expertise to include trauma-informed care, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and care for individuals with behavioral challenges related to various mental health diagnoses, including dementia. Shortly after welcoming her third child, Ashley discovered her dream opportunity in supporting parents like her—and the many diverse families she has worked with over the past 15 years.
Ashley’s approach is family-centered, honoring the whole child, and collaborative. She works with families to create goals rooted in their values and encourages parents to explore new depths in their relationships with their children and their environments, believing these are the foundations of sustainable, supportive change.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time at the beach, reading, and hiking with her husband and three sons, all ages six and under. She considers herself lucky to call sunny Santa Barbara, CA, home. Ashley creates sessions that are safe spaces for families to come as they are, emphasizing that all are welcome, all are valued, and that parents are doing a good job.
