Ashley Smith, BCBA, has enjoyed serving families in a variety of settings over the years. Before joining Little Otter, she worked in home, school, and clinic environments. Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology, focusing on research and behavior, and later earned her Master of Education and BCBA certification while working for a nonprofit in Asheville, NC. There, she helped oversee a unique clinic setting where students participated in community activities, gardening, academics, and developed meaningful life and pre-vocational skills. She now resides in Ohio and is thrilled to be part of the Little Otter team. In all her years of working in Applied Behavior Analysis, supporting parents has been Ashley’s favorite aspect. She loves helping parents feel empowered to manage challenging behaviors and enjoys using science and the latest research to creatively meet the needs of each individual. Ashley believes there is no “one right way”; parents are the experts on their children, and sometimes all that is needed is a sounding board and fresh ideas to create meaningful differences for families. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her two daughters, husband, dog, and rabbit. She loves being outdoors, hiking, gardening, and enjoying quality time with her family.
