Christine De Lara, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. Her passion for working with children began in community-based services and after-school programs, which inspired her to study Child and Adolescent Development. After several years as a preschool teacher, Christine realized her desire to connect with children and families on a deeper emotional level and pursued further education in clinical counseling. Christine’s clinical experience spans a wide range of populations and settings, including work with adults navigating substance use challenges and underserved youth and families through a non-profit organization in partnership with Sacramento County. These experiences have shaped her holistic, culturally responsive approach to therapy. She is especially skilled in supporting families navigating trauma, adversity, and intergenerational challenges, helping them build stronger relationships and move toward healing. Christine provides trauma-informed care and integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems theories. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and respect for each client’s lived experience. She believes that caregivers and children are the experts of their own lives and that a strong therapeutic alliance is essential for meaningful growth. Christine partners closely with families to meet them where they are, honoring that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. She values honest communication and creates a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported in exploring their emotions and achieving their goals. Outside of her clinical work, Christine enjoys staying active through hiking, yoga, running, and exercise. She is currently learning how to play golf and embraces opportunities to try new things. She finds balance by spending time with loved ones, cuddling with her dog Sophie, and enjoying good food—especially her favorite meals. Christine understands that trust takes time and considers it a privilege to walk alongside families in their therapeutic journey. Her warm, client-centered style supports families in building resilience, deepening connection, and thriving together.
