Claudia Avila, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with over five years of experience supporting children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds. Her clinical work has focused on individuals impacted by trauma, including foster and adopted children, and she brings a deep commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care. Claudia draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), thoughtfully tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each child and family. She also brings valuable leadership experience from her role as an Intake Supervisor, where she oversaw intake procedures and conducted comprehensive mental health assessments. This position expanded her expertise in care coordination and deepened her understanding of the complexities individuals face throughout their mental health journeys. Claudia’s therapeutic philosophy centers on the belief that families already hold the strength, resilience, and insight needed to thrive. She approaches therapy as a collaborative and empowering process, one that respects each family's voice and fosters growth through practical skills-building and increased self-awareness. Her work is grounded in a deep belief in her clients’ capacity for change, healing, and connection. In her role, Claudia is honored to walk alongside families as they take steps toward wellness. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where both children and caregivers feel seen, heard, and encouraged. With warmth, respect, and evidence-based tools, Claudia helps families navigate challenges and move toward stronger relationships and improved emotional well-being.
