Jennifer Roman Gonzalez, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from Southern California with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families, particularly those in low-income communities. Her clinical focus is on children ages 0–5, though she also works with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. Jennifer uses evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP), Seeking Safety, and Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), to provide trauma-informed care tailored to each family’s unique experiences. Her approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and aimed at helping children and families grow and thrive to their fullest potential. Prior to joining Little Otter, Jennifer worked with young children experiencing trauma and developmental challenges, supporting families in understanding behaviors related to trauma and navigating community resources. She has also supported children in the welfare system, assisting their teams and families to understand trauma impacts and encouraging trauma-informed approaches. Jennifer has experience working with children facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other adjustment-related disorders, including grief and divorce. She emphasizes working with the whole family, recognizing that children thrive when their environment is supportive. Jennifer earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016 from Pacific Oaks College, Pasadena, CA, and her Bachelor of Arts in Child Development in 2011 from California State University, Los Angeles. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Outside of her clinical work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, running, watching movies, and anything Disney-related.
