Karishma is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Texas and California with over a decade of experience providing behavioral health services across clinical, educational, and community settings. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and practices from a strong foundation in evidence-based and trauma-informed care. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families, supporting a range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and complex life stressors. Her work includes comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches. Karishma currently serves as a therapist with Austin ISD, providing school-based therapeutic services and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, while also maintaining a private practice offering culturally responsive care. She also brings experience in clinical supervision, training, and program development, and is committed to delivering compassionate, ethical, and high-quality care that supports resilience and lasting change. Karishma’s therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic/Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. She has extensive experience working with trauma and uses a trauma-informed lens to support children, adolescents, and their families in processing difficult experiences, building emotional safety, and developing healthy coping skills. Karishma works collaboratively to foster insight and meaningful change while creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. With specialized experience in play therapy and child-centered interventions, she provides an engaging space where children can express themselves and work through challenges in developmentally appropriate ways. Her approach is grounded in cultural sensitivity and respect for each family’s values, allowing her to offer care that is responsive and empowering. She focuses on helping clients build on their strengths, increase resilience, and achieve practical, lasting outcomes. Outside of work Karishma enjoys reading, traveling, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
