Kelly Edelman, M.A., BCBA, has had the privilege of supporting the mental health needs of individuals across diverse populations. While earning her undergraduate degree at Purdue University, she studied Speech, Language, and Hearing Science with a minor in Linguistics, gaining foundational knowledge in supporting language and communication challenges. She went on to earn a graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University to become a BCBA. Throughout her journey, Kelly worked directly with families and children ages 3 to 22 diagnosed with Autism and other mental health needs. Prior to joining Little Otter, she served as a senior program manager, providing direct support to caregivers, teachers, and children with unique behavioral needs. Her work included supporting schools, participating in IEP meetings, designing treatment plans, and training other providers before ultimately joining Little Otter to provide direct support to caregivers. Kelly’s approach is built on the belief that caregivers are the key to long-term progress and the ultimate experts on their children and families. She works closely with each caregiver to develop a partnership that is compassionate, reflective, and respectful. Through this therapeutic relationship, Kelly strives to understand each family’s concerns, needs, and barriers. She believes children thrive when caregivers are supported, heard, and equipped with the resources needed to lead their families. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and pets, including her dog and bird. She also enjoys gardening, exploring new plants, and trying out new recipes.
