She/Her
Krystina Jones, LMFT, has been in the therapy world for 8 years—holding space for big feelings, messy stories, and beautiful breakthroughs. Her passion lies in working with kids, teens, and families, especially those navigating trauma, anxiety, and the ups and downs of being human.
Krystina began her career in community mental health and went on to work in school-based programs, private practice models, and now at Little Otter. Each setting has taught her something meaningful about resilience, connection, and the power of showing up. Whether she's on the floor with a child and a bin of toys, helping a teen untangle racing thoughts, or guiding a parent through the art of co-regulation, Krystina brings a playful, compassionate, and evidence-based approach.
She leans into trauma-informed models such as Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems and balances those with skills-based work from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Krystina believes healing sometimes looks like insight, and other times it looks like learning how to breathe through a meltdown. Either way, she sees therapy as a safe space to feel, grow, and get curious about yourself.
Therapy with Krystina is relational, creative, and deeply collaborative. Whether she’s building a coping skills toolbox with a teen, using toy animals to help a child tell their story, or walking a parent through a tough moment with compassion (and maybe some humor), her goal is to create a space where every member of the family feels safe, seen, and supported.
Collaborative treatment planning is at the heart of her work. All clients—even the littlest ones—are invited to have a voice in their goals. Families might find themselves creating a “feelings menu,” designing a “calm-down corner,” or drawing out a roadmap for healthy boundaries—each step intentionally tailored to the client’s unique strengths and needs.
Krystina loves involving parents and caregivers in sessions—whether through co-regulation practice, parent coaching, or simply sitting together to celebrate a child’s success. She holds space for the entire family system, always working toward deeper understanding, stronger relationships, and meaningful changes that last beyond the therapy room.
Outside of work, Krystina enjoys reading, coloring, drinking coffee, playing video games, and hanging out with her cats. She also finds joy spending time at the barn with her horse, Maggie Mae—grooming, riding, and just cuddling.
