LaShawnda Gayden, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience supporting a wide range of clients, including children, adults, and older adults. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy and began her career working as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist, providing services in both community and in-home settings for five years. LaShawnda later received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. Following graduate school, she spent seven years working as a school social worker and crisis screener for children, where she developed extensive experience supporting youth and families during challenging and high-stress situations. For the past eight years, LaShawnda has worked as an individual and family therapist, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is passionate about helping clients develop practical skills to navigate life’s challenges and build healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. LaShawnda’s therapeutic style is collaborative and relationship-centered. She believes that building strong rapport is essential for clients and families to feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. Her work is grounded in careful listening, empathy, and a strong commitment to professional ethics. Outside of her work, LaShawnda enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and staying active through sports.
