Lorraine Donnelly, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families. Lorraine’s journey as a therapist began in elementary school, inspired by her calm and friendly guidance counselor. After earning her Master’s degree in Education from West Chester University, PA, she served as an elementary and middle school counselor in a small urban district, gaining training in conflict resolution, attentional and oppositional issues, high-functioning autism, and school-related concerns such as school refusal. She also has extensive experience with special education services, including crafting 504 Service Agreements and assisting in IEP meetings.
Over the past ten years, Lorraine has worked in private practice helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, self-harm, panic disorder, and blended family concerns.
Lorraine’s therapeutic approach is client-centered. She prioritizes listening with empathy and care to collaboratively strategize and create a plan to achieve clients’ desired outcomes and goals. Recognizing that no two individuals are the same, she uses an eclectic approach, incorporating methods such as art, music, writing, and educational materials to enhance conversation and build rapport. Her therapeutic alliance is grounded in trust, and she adapts her methods to facilitate growth and change based on each individual’s needs.
Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, whether hiking, going to dinner and a movie, or engaging with her two cats, Linus and Bella. She also loves reading and continuing education through ongoing training and courses.
