Madeline Madison, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and Registered Art Therapist passionate about helping children, adolescents, and young adults overcome trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. While in her undergraduate program at New York University, Madeline studied Child Development and Social Intervention as well as studio art, which led seamlessly into her Masters program at Loyola Marymount University where she studied Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Art Therapy. Madeline spent two years doing trauma therapy with children and teens who dealt with unstable home environments, then working in a residential treatment center for the following two years. Madeline has a passion for using a trauma informed lens in all of her work, and loves to create a stable but fun therapy experience. Through a combination of traditional talk therapy, art therapy techniques, and evidence-based interventions, Madeline aims to help clients build resilience, develop coping strategies, and foster a positive self-image. Madeline believes that it is not what happens to you, but how you handle it and harness change that really shapes your life. Madeline and her clients and first work to build a strong collaborative alliance. Once that is established, she believes a relationship is built in which she can be straightforward and the client can appreciate the honesty. In turn, she welcomes straightforward and honest feedback from clients. Madeline strives to create a non-judgmental and inclusive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their stories, exploring their vulnerabilities, and embracing their strengths. Whether it's navigating the complexities of relationships, coping with traumatic events, or dealing with academic pressures, Madeline aims to provide individualized support and treatment. Outside of work, Madeline enjoys painting, reading, and lifting weights!
