Growing up in Southern California, Mayra developed a passion for mental health, which led her to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California.
In her practice, Mayra utilizes an eclectic approach, drawing from various evidence-based techniques such as CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, DBT, Solution-Focused, and Humanistic therapies to provide personalized and effective treatment. She has a particular interest in working with children, teens, and families to address depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, and trauma.

She believes in the power of collaboration and works with clients to develop practical strategies and tools that help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Outside of her professional life, Mayra enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, as well as building intricate Lego creations that challenge her creativity and attention to detail.
