Porscha Moore, LCSW has over a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. Her work spans a variety of college and community mental health settings, including perinatal/postpartum mental health services, crisis stabilization, juvenile justice, reunification, and services for survivors of sexual violence. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). However, she recognizes that each child and family is unique, and healing requires a personalized approach. To meet these diverse needs, she incorporates elements of cultural humility, narrative therapy, play, solution-focused therapy, and behaviorism—ensuring her methods are flexible and responsive in helping clients reconnect with their inner superhero.
Porscha’s therapeutic approach is rooted in cultural humility and connection, and grounded in the belief that understanding and addressing a young person’s mental health needs is deeply intertwined with the wellbeing of their caregiver, family, and broader community. She works hand-in-hand with caregivers, building relationships that are compassionate, reflective, and deeply respectful. She co-creates therapeutic relationships by using laughter and asset-based communication to understand the family’s concerns and needs while empowering the child or youth’s voice. In partnership with those she serves, she collaborates on treatment goals and uses evidence-based strategies tailored to each individual. Above all, she believes that when people are truly seen, supported, and embraced with unconditional positive regard, they flourish.
