Samantha Padilla, LCSW, has dedicated her career to supporting the mental health and well-being of children and their families in a variety of settings. While earning her undergraduate degree in Human Services at California State University, Fullerton, she worked closely with at-risk youth, sparking her passion for helping others. After completing her master’s degree at the University of Southern California, she became a training facilitator for prospective foster families, where she developed a deep understanding of the impact of trauma. In March 2020, she transitioned into the mental health field, focusing on collaborating with families of children with unique behavioral needs. Through this work, she discovered her true passion—providing direct support to caregivers as part of the team at Little Otter. Samantha’s approach is grounded in the belief that caregivers are the experts on their children and families, and that meaningful change begins with empowering them. Drawing from her experience in trauma-informed care, play-based approaches, and family systems work, Samantha partners closely with each caregiver to build a relationship that is authentic, compassionate, reflective, and respectful. Through this collaborative process, she works to understand each family’s unique needs and strengths. Samantha believes that children thrive when their caregivers feel supported, heard, and equipped with the tools and confidence to nurture their family’s growth and well-being. Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, making everyday living an adventure, and gardening.
