Shannon Imper, LMFT is a therapist at Little Otter with four years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across various community-based service settings. Her clinical background includes work with a non-profit organization, where she facilitated a teen and family domestic violence intervention group. She has been honored to walk alongside individuals and families of all ages who have experienced adversity or trauma, offering support on their journey toward healing. Given the uniqueness of each child and family, Shannon tailors treatment to meet their specific needs and adapts her approach accordingly. She draws from a range of therapeutic frameworks, including Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Systems Advocacy, and Family-Focused theories to promote growth and meaningful change. Shannon’s therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that people are the experts on themselves, their children, and their families—and that they are best equipped to guide their unique therapeutic process. She works closely with caregivers to better understand the family's concerns and needs, collaborating to develop treatment goals that are grounded in evidence-based strategies. Shannon believes that each member of a family brings a unique perspective, and that families thrive when they are heard, supported, and connected to the right resources. Outside of her clinical work, Shannon enjoys painting, hiking, visiting farmers' markets, and playing cozy video games.
