Theresa Brown, LPCC, is a licensed professional clinical counselor who has always been the go-to person for offering support and advice to others. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in psychology. During college, she worked in various research labs studying aspects of romantic relationships, including communication, the impact of long-distance relationships, and how individuals speak about their relationships. Driven by a desire to work directly with clients, Theresa transitioned into becoming a clinical therapist, where she blends her knowledge of human behavior with hands-on support. Theresa holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She has experience working in various levels of care, from residential to outpatient settings, specializing in trauma and eating disorders. Theresa works from a person-centered, trauma-informed perspective and focuses on helping children, teens, adults, and families better understand and adapt their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Her therapeutic approach primarily includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment theory, Gottman Method, and other individualized therapies. Outside of her professional work, Theresa enjoys hiking with her two dogs, Aurora and Roo, as they explore National Parks together. Theresa deeply values the meaningful connections that being a therapist allows her to build with clients.
