  • We offer tele-therapy for children 0-14, parent training and support, couples therapy, and psychiatric services including med management.

  • No, Little Otter cannot provide services internationally, even if you have an address in the United States.

  • Yes! Our Parenting Specialists focus on externalizing behaviors - not only the behaviors that you can see, but also the behaviors you don’t see but you want to see more often. A Parenting Specialist’s goal is to give you more tools as a parent to support you, and give you a plan to deal with day-to-day parenting struggles.

  • Little Otter is currently able to work with families in select states. We’re expanding nationwide as quickly as we can!

    For our Care Team to provide services, you must be located in your home state during all scheduled appointments.

  • We do have child psychiatrists on board that can provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management should that be necessary or desired by you.

  • If, for some reasons, parents are unable to follow through with parenting strategies that are given due to their own needs, therapy is available for adults in the case of parent misalignment, co-parenting support, couples support and individual therapy.

  • We offer tele-therapy for children 0-14, parent training and support, couples therapy, and psychiatric services including med management.

  • Our providers have experience across a wide range of concerns. A non-exhaustive list of concerns we can help with are anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, ADHD, behavioral challenges, OCD, grief/loss. However, we do not assess for ASD at this time.

Billing & Payment

  • The one-time fee of $20 initial for the Kickoff Session is all you need to get started. No membership. No recurring payment.

    Standard Therapy Session: $195

    Assessment: $390

    Psychiatry Services:

    General Psychiatry Evaluation (75min): $500

    Psychiatry Follow-up/Med Management (30min): $250

    Bundles:

    $527 for Assessment bundle, 10% discount (90 min assessment + 1 standard therapy session).

    $702 for 4 session bundle, 10% discount.

    $1,326 for 8 session bundle, 15% discount.

    $1,989 for 12 session bundle, 15% discount.

  • Services will be charged to the credit card on file 23 hours prior to the start of the session to align with our >24hr cancellation policy. You’ll receive an invoice via email.

  • The credit card on file will be charged 23hrs prior to your session to align with Little Otter’s 24hr cancellation policy. If the credit card is declined, we will contact you directly to coordinate an alternate method of payment. Please note, if there is an outstanding balance on your account, your care may be interrupted or terminated until the outstanding balance is paid in full.

Scheduling

  • If you would like to speak to a licensed provider and begin your care, please schedule your initial Kickoff Session via your Little Otter account.

    Once you’ve had your Kickoff Session, you can log into the Little Otter app, click on “Book or Manage Appointments” and choose the provider that you would like to schedule with by clicking “Schedule” underneath their name.

  • You can reschedule your appointment one of two ways: Log into the Little Otter app, click on the “Book or Manage Appointments” button on the homepage, click on the appointment you want to reschedule, and then click “Reschedule”.

    You may also reschedule your appointment by reaching out to help@littleotterhealth.com and letting us know the date of the appointment and who the appointment is with.

  • If you need to cancel an appointment, log into the Little Otter app, click on the “Book or Manage Appointments” button on the homepage, click on the appointment you wish to cancel.

    You may also cancel your appointment by reaching out to help@littleotterhealth.com or 415-449-2813.and letting us know the date of the appointment you wish to cancel.

  • Cancelling or rescheduling within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a charge of 100% of the full appointment cost. Cancelling or rescheduling prior to that time can be done at no cost.

    Missing an appointment will also incur a charge of 100% of the full appointment cost.

  • Please reach out to help@littleotterhealth.com and we would be happy to refund the appointment via the payment method that was charged.

  • At your initial Kickoff Session, your Care Lead will discuss the importance of the assessment period and the ideal schedule to provide high-quality care.

    For this reason, we ask that once you have scheduled your assessment appointments you do not reschedule or miss any appointments during this essential period.

    Missed or rescheduled appointments during this period will be charged at full appointment cost regardless of when the appointment is canceled or rescheduled.

  • Your Care Team lead will be happy to help you book your next appointment with your providers. We recommend doing this in advance. After all, if your next appointment is not scheduled, your time slot and care team availability can’t be guaranteed. That’s why we recommend always scheduling in advance to avoid inconvenience.

  • At your initial Kickoff Session, you will be matched with your Care Team whose availability and messaging will be held for 7 days. If you are unable to schedule within 7 days of your Kickoff Session, we cannot guarantee the availability of your preferred time or initial Care Team. In this occurrence, please reach out to your Care Lead to identify next steps.

Insurance

  • We are currently in-network with:

    • Independence Blue Cross*

    • AmeriHealth

    • Sana

    We have additional insurance partnerships that may provide referrals directly. Check with your insurance provider to see if you are eligible for coverage.

    All therapy sessions are HSA/FSA eligible. Parent specialist sessions will be contingent on an individual's insurance plan.

  • Generally plans will reimburse 40-70% of the session after you have met your deductible however it will be dependent on your personal coverage

    Please note parent specialist services are generally not reimbursable. However therapy and psychiatry appointments are more widely reimbursed

    Medicaid plans do not offer reimbursement for any services.

  • All therapy sessions are HSA/FSA eligible. Parent specialist sessions will be contingent on an individual's insurance plan.

Bundles

  • We offer the following options for packages:

    • $527 for Assessment bundle, 10% discount (90 min assessment + 1 standard therapy session).

    • $702 for 4 session bundle, 10% discount.

    • $1,326 for 8 session bundle, 15% discount.

    • $1,989 for 12 session bundle, 15% discount.

  • You can purchase a bundle one of two ways:

    • Log into the Little Otter app, click on “Book or Manage Appointments”, choose the primary provider that you will use the bundle with and click on “Book Bundle”.

    • You can also reach out to us at help@littleotterhealth.com and we would be happy to help you purchase a bundle.

  • You will receive an invoice after your package has been created. The card on file will be processed for the full amount.

  • After a package has been purchased, it is not refundable even if there are remaining sessions.

  • Packages can be purchased at any point during your care. However, sessions cannot be placed retroactively into a purchased package.

  • Unfortunately, previously completed sessions cannot be retroactively placed into a package.

  • You may continue to purchase additional packages to fit your family's care.

  • Yes! Please contact help@littleotterhealth.com to request the upgrade.

  • Purchased packages can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement. However only completed sessions for the month will be included in the reimbursement documentation. We can provide an out-of-network benefits check on your behalf as well.

  • Packages will continue to be filled with your scheduled sessions automatically throughout your care. All your sessions do not need to be scheduled at the time of purchase.

  • Missed sessions included in a package will not be removed if Little Otter was not notified within the >24hr policy. The missed session will still occupy a slot.

  • If a session is rescheduled more than 24 hrs prior to session start time, the original session will not occupy one of the package slots.

  • Yes! All of your family's sessions may be included under one package.

  • No, packages may continue to be purchased throughout your care.

Current Clients

  • Only caregivers should be present on the initial Kickoff Session. This is intended for you to speak freely with your Care Lead about the challenges you are looking to address.

  • You can find the Zoom meeting information in a few different ways:

    • You will have a link to it in the email confirmation and reminders that we send 24 hours and 30 minutes before your appointment.

    • If your appointment is within the next hour, you can log into the Little Otter app and click the button at the top of the page that says “Join Call”

  • Look in the email inbox associated with your Little Otter account for an email with the subject “[Provider Name] at Little Otter has sent you a form”

    This email will contain a link to the form and a “password” that must be entered after clicking on the link.

    If you cannot locate the email, please contact your Care Team lead or help@littleotterhealth.com and we would be happy to resend it to you.

  • You can add an additional caregiver by logging into the Little Otter app, clicking on “Settings” in the bottom right, click on “Family”, and then click “Add New Caregiver”

    The new caregiver will receive an invitation to the Little Otter app where they can set a password.

    NOTE: Adding a caregiver gives them full access to appointment information, assessment information, and session notes. If the additional caregiver should not have full access, please reach out to your provider or help@littleotterhealth.com and we will add them for you with limited access.

  • You can see all your upcoming appointments by logging into the Little Otter app.

  • If you would like to speak to a licensed provider and begin your care, please schedule your initial Kickoff Session via your Little Otter account.

    Once you’ve had your Kickoff Session, you can log into the Little Otter app, click on “Book or Manage Appointments” and choose the provider that you would like to schedule with by clicking “Schedule” underneath their name.

  • To view your care team, navigate to the three horizontal lines in the upper right hand corner. Select “Settings” and “Care Team”

  • Login to the app, then select “Care Journey.” You’ll then be able to click on the specific session below that, which includes session notes.

  • To provide care, we must receive authorization from all caregivers that have legal custody of the child. We can provide documentation to be completed prior to rendering services with the child.
