She/Her
Alyssa Lopez, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over eight years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and families across diverse clinical settings, including residential treatment, school-based programs, and community mental health. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of walking alongside clients during some of their most vulnerable and transformative moments. Alyssa specializes in trauma-informed and attachment-based care and is trained in several evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT). She also incorporates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT for OCD), motivational interviewing, and play therapy to meet the unique needs of each client and family. Alyssa’s therapeutic philosophy is rooted in collaboration, inclusivity, and a deep respect for the strength of the family system. She views caregivers as essential partners in the therapeutic process and works from the belief that families possess the insight and capacity to support one another in healing and growth. Rather than identifying a single individual as the problem, she helps families recognize their collective power to foster meaningful and lasting change. In her work, Alyssa creates a compassionate and supportive environment where clients feel seen, empowered, and heard. She emphasizes open communication, shared goals, and tailored strategies that promote connection, resilience, and sustainable progress. Outside of her clinical work, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her two Border Collie mix dogs, as well as with family and friends. She finds joy in exploring the outdoors, attending live music events, and listening to thought-provoking podcasts. A lifelong learner, she is passionate about travel, discovering new foods, and engaging in culturally rich experiences that inspire curiosity and connection.
