Lauren Thomason, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor with over 16 years of experience specializing in the care of young children, their families, and caregivers. She has provided therapeutic support across a variety of settings, including in-home services, office-based therapy, homeless shelters, community mental health programs, childcare classrooms, and virtual platforms. Lauren’s clinical expertise includes supporting children who are experiencing difficulties adjusting to new or challenging situations, as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. She is trained in Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other trauma-informed approaches. Drawing from play therapy, motivational interviewing, and role-play, Lauren tailors her interventions to the unique needs of each child and family—always with a focus on supporting growth and lasting change. Central to Lauren’s therapeutic philosophy is the belief that caregivers are the true experts on their children. She works collaboratively with families as a trusted partner, approaching each therapeutic relationship with care, respect, and understanding. Lauren guides caregivers through identifying their concerns, setting goals, and implementing evidence-based strategies that strengthen the entire family system. She believes that when parents feel supported and heard, children thrive. Outside of her clinical work, Lauren enjoys biking, hiking, and exploring new areas of her city.
