Mary Kahler, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and behavioral therapist with over fifteen years of clinical experience supporting children and families. She has worked with children ages 0–18 and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds in a variety of settings, including homes, communities, hospitals, schools, early learning centers, in-office, and via telehealth. Mary provides individual child-directed play therapy, individual therapy with youth and teens, dyadic therapy with parents and children, and parent skills training, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Standard Triple P Level 4 (Positive Parenting Program), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Mary received her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Social Work focusing on Family, Youth, and Children Services. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes collaboration with children and families to identify areas for lasting growth and change, particularly for those who have experienced trauma or struggle with depression, anxiety, or other mental health and behavioral challenges. She works to build rapport and trust through respect, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
Mary resides in Seattle, WA, with her family. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, camping, exploring the Pacific Northwest, drinking good coffee, and spending time with family and friends, including chasing around her 5-year-old daughter.
