Shannon Thorntonbey, LPCC, is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Shannon’s journey to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both her professional expertise and her dedication to supporting others. With a Doctorate in Social Work, a clinical mental health license, and over eight years of experience in child protection, she has developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, complex case management, and collaboration with law enforcement. Her work with victims of trafficking, exploitation, and sexual trauma further deepened her commitment to advocacy and healing. Transitioning into private practice, Shannon embraced her passion for helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and life’s challenges. Guided by compassion, open communication, and holistic interventions, she continues to create a safe space for clients to grow, heal, and thrive.Shannon’s therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, open communication, and a holistic perspective. She integrates evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT with trauma-informed care to help clients develop coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build resilience. Drawing on her extensive experience in child protection and work with survivors of trafficking and exploitation, she prioritizes safety, empowerment, and collaboration in every session. Shannon also values mindfulness and other holistic interventions, supporting clients in addressing not only their emotional well-being but also the mind-body connection. She tailors her work to each client’s unique needs, fostering a safe, nonjudgmental space where growth and healing can take place.Outside of work, Shannon is a Disney adult, loves mindfulness, astrology and spending time with her kids and cats.
