She/Her
Tonia Locklear, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years of experience in the social work field, including more than six years providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and families in both community mental health settings and private practice. She is passionate about supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Tonia integrates a blend of evidence-based approaches in her work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and strengths-based, experiential techniques. Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered, grounded in the belief that healing occurs within a safe, supportive relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. When working with children and families, she emphasizes strengthening communication, building emotional awareness, and supporting the parent-child relationship, tailoring interventions to each family’s unique needs while creating a culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate space. Currently pursuing her Doctor of Social Work (DSW), Tonia is committed to deepening her ability to serve, lead, and advocate. She incorporates mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, and play-informed techniques to help children express themselves and families reconnect with trust, resilience, and hope. Her practice is rooted in creating a culturally responsive and inclusive environment where all individuals and families feel respected, supported, and affirmed. Outside of work, Tonia enjoys spending quality time with her family and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, finding cooking to be a meaningful way to relax and connect.
